Living with boys is like living in a zoo in the jungle, but wilder. Young boys have little bodies but fill up the whole house. Moms of boys have had to adapt. It's dirtier, rawer, and sweeter than we expected.
I love this kid but I'm just trying to make it through each day. I can see these traits as positives... someday in the future. I'm trying my damndest NOT to squash his crazy, strong, huge personality before it blooms. Someday, he'll likely be the funnest, funniest, most interesting person I know.
My parenting style is summed up as "yes, isn't that interesting!". I don't worry about what the other parents do, in fact if everyone else is doing it, I probably won't. I'm not a contrarian. I'm just think differently. Here's some different things you can do too...
